I’m thinking about upgrading the low beams to something less dick-ish than LED cree lights and I recently read about 9012/11 bulbs that can be !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Has anyone tried this retrofit and if so, how much more better is it?

It depends on the car. Some can handle it, some cannot. You can ask here where they have some knowledgeable people.

I did it in my FJ80. Super easy modification to make, much better than the stock bulbs but also not so bright as to be obnoxious or a menace.

Why not just get the 9006 LED?

I have the 9012 for my Ram, and they are super bright, way better than the stock halogen. They also kept the nice cutoff line that I was concerned with. This seller on Amazon has a 365 day satisfaction guarantee, don’t like them, send them back. They also have a lifetime warranty.

But as another poster here said, it depends on your car and headlights. I would suggest the change if you have projectors, but not if you have a reflector setup, you don’t want to blind oncoming cars as these are very, very bright.

I should also note, when driving there are no hot/bright spots of light, it is very evenly spread as opposed to the halogen that did have a bright spot for each light. The halogen did not give a spread of light on the road.
